The international legal right to self-determination is explicitly recognized in Article 1(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), which state: "All peoples have the right of self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social, and cultural development." This principle is further affirmed in the Charter of the United Nations (Article 1(2)), which declares the purpose of the UN to include: "To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples."

ABOUT US

Explore the Advancement of the Oodua Homeland

Our mission is clear: to pursue the self-determination and sovereignty of the Oodua nation—a cause that reflects the aspirations of our people for political autonomy, cultural preservation, and economic independence. This vision is not just a response to the challenges of today but a legacy of our ancestors who cherished freedom, unity, and the dignity of the Oodua identity.

Promote Unity: Strengthen the bonds among Oodua people at home and in the diaspora, fostering collective resolve toward our shared goals.
Preserve Our Heritage: Protect and celebrate our rich culture, language, and traditions as a foundation for our sovereignty.
Chart the Course for Independence: Strategically advocate for self-determination through diplomacy, legal route, education, and grassroots mobilization, ensuring that our aspirations are rooted in justice and equity.
As we embark on this historic mission, let us remain steadfast, united, and purposeful. The Oodua people are looking to us for leadership, and with God’s guidance and our collective effort, we shall deliver a brighter future for generations to come.
